Verizon crushed third-quarter expectations by adding 406,000 monthly-bill paying wireless subscribers, prompting the telecom giant to raise its annual subscriber and adjusted earnings forecasts. Alongside its strong wireless growth, Verizon announced a monumental AI infrastructure agreement worth over $2 billion with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Under the deal, Verizon will supply high-capacity fiber-optic connectivity directly to AWS data centers. Despite these strong forward-looking catalysts and ongoing talks with other hyperscalers, Verizon shares dipped 2.5% in early trading following a slight revenue miss attributed to lower device upgrade volumes.
