A photorealistic image of a thick financial prospectus document resting on a desk, illuminated by the glow of massive, high-tech cloud server racks in the background.

Amazon investors are eagerly awaiting the release of Anthropic’s initial public offering (IPO) prospectus for a very specific reason: a massive $100 billion, 10-year spending commitment. In April, the AI startup pledged this staggering sum to Amazon Web Services (AWS), securing up to 5 gigawatts of future compute capacity. This single deal accounts for roughly a fifth of AWS's massive $496 billion contract backlog. While Amazon’s filings reflect the immense scale of the agreement, Wall Street is looking to Anthropic’s impending S-1 filing to provide audited financial statements—proving whether the AI darling actually has the revenue and cash flow to honor its monumental cloud infrastructure promises.
