Telenor Launches Cloud-Native Nordic TV Platform Powered by AWS and Scalstrm

Telenor has officially gone live with a modernized pan-Nordic TV and entertainment platform, developed through a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Scalstrm. The cloud-based streaming service replaces traditional on-premise infrastructure, accelerating a deployment process that typically takes over three years to less than one. The platform currently processes over 20% of Telenor's commercial channels across Norway, Sweden, and Finland, delivering live TV, catch-up, and video-on-demand services. By utilizing AWS’s cloud computing and Scalstrm’s Infrastructure as Code (IaaC), Telenor aims to enhance streaming reliability while potentially reducing operational costs by up to 50% in certain areas.
