Kiwa Digital and AWS Power AI-Driven Indigenous Language and Cultural Preservation Across Aotearoa and the Pacific

Kiwa Digital, a New Zealand–based Indigenous technology company, has launched new Te Ao Māori and Tongan language experiences on CultureQ, its AI-powered SaaS platform built on AWS. Using Amazon Bedrock and Custom D’s generative AI capabilities, CultureQ transforms community-approved cultural archives into interactive, conversational learning experiences. The platform supports language revitalisation, cultural governance, and improved health literacy, including a new Tongan medical dictionary, while ensuring Indigenous communities retain full control over their data.
