AWS has unveiled Graviton5, its newest custom CPU, bringing up to 25% higher performance than Graviton4 while keeping AWS’s strong energy-efficiency edge. The first Graviton5-powered EC2 M9g instances pack 192 cores per chip, a 5× larger L3 cache, and boosts to memory, networking, and EBS bandwidth—helping workloads like databases, analytics, gaming, and EDA scale up with lower latency and cost. Built on the latest Nitro System plus the new Nitro Isolation Engine, Graviton5 also raises the bar on cloud security with formally verified isolation. With Graviton already powering over half of new AWS CPU capacity and used by nearly all top EC2 customers, Graviton5 positions AWS for the next wave of high-performance, sustainable cloud growth.
