AWS and Nokia are advancing 5G capabilities by introducing an "industry-first" network slicing technology powered by Amazon Bedrock-based AI agents. Rather than relying solely on the 5G Core, this new platform shifts slicing decisions directly to the radio network operations center. The AI agents analyze real-time radio parameters to dynamically create end-to-end custom network slices, allowing operators to better anticipate customer needs. Telecommunications companies Orange and du are currently trialing the technology, which is set to be showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, alongside other AWS advancements in AI-driven network automation.
