Amazon and Google have unveiled a jointly developed multicloud networking service, enabling businesses to establish private, high-speed links between AWS and Google Cloud in minutes instead of weeks. The service combines AWS Interconnect–multicloud with Google Cloud’s Cross-Cloud Interconnect to improve network interoperability and reliability. Early users like Salesforce are already leveraging the new approach, which comes after an October AWS outage that caused hundreds of millions in losses worldwide. This collaboration reflects a growing focus on infrastructure that supports surging internet traffic and AI workloads, helping enterprises move data and applications seamlessly across clouds.
