In a breakdown of Amazon's latest earnings, CEO Andy Jassy highlighted a massive $244 billion backlog for AWS, driven by surging demand for both core cloud services and generative AI. Jassy outlined an aggressive hardware strategy, noting that the upcoming Trainium4 AI chips are slated for release in 2027, with discussions for Trainium5 already underway. He also defended the company's $200 billion capital expenditure plan for 2026, stating that the majority of this investment is necessary to meet supply-constrained demand, particularly as custom silicon like Graviton continues to grow at over 50% year-over-year.
