REAL-TIME OPERATIONS DASHBOARD FOR ENTERPRISE CONSTRUCTION ACCESS

OVERVIEW
An enterprise platform managing construction project access for thousands of users lacked centralized visibility into request volumes, approval status, or team performance. We designed and built a real-time operations dashboard that gives managers instant insight into their team requests, approval pipelines, and key platform metrics.
THE CHALLENGE
The legacy platform provided no dashboard or reporting interface for managers, creating several operational gaps:

• No visibility into pending requests or approval bottlenecks across cost centers.
• Managers had no way to track what their teams were requesting without contacting the admin team.
• No metrics on request volumes, processing times, or platform usage trends.
• The admin team manually compiled reports for stakeholders on a recurring basis.
• No self-service way for portfolio managers to monitor project creation activity.
• Decision-making relied on anecdotal information rather than data.

OUR SOLUTION

We designed and built a centralized, role-based dashboard within the platform, giving managers real-time access to the information they need. The dashboard provides visibility into all requests within a manager's cost center, including request status, assignee, and timeline. Users can quickly filter and search requests by type, status, date, or user, while built-in metrics track request volumes, processing times, and usage trends. We also integrated approval pipeline visibility so managers can identify where requests are stalled and who needs to take action. To ensure a seamless user experience, the dashboard was designed using the platform's established design system.

KEY FEATURES

• Self-Service Visibility - Managers can now view all requests from their teams without contacting the admin team. This eliminated a significant source of back-and-forth communication and support tickets.

• Real-Time Status Tracking - Instead of waiting for weekly or monthly reports, managers have instant access to current request status, approval progress, and processing timelines.

• Data-Driven Decision Making - Platform metrics give leadership the data they need to identify bottlenecks, forecast demand, and allocate resources without relying on manual report generation.

• Reduced Admin Overhead - The self-service dashboard eliminated recurring manual reporting that the admin team previously handled for stakeholders on a weekly and monthly basis.

GLOBAL IMPACT/RESULTS

• Gave managers instant visibility into team requests without admin involvement

• Eliminated manual report generation for stakeholder updates

• Enabled data-driven resource allocation and bottleneck identification

• Reduced support tickets from managers requesting status updates

• Provided real-time metrics unavailable in the legacy platform

• Supported multiple user roles with appropriate data access based on role

CONCLUSION

Building the operations dashboard addressed a fundamental gap in the platform: managers had no way to see what was happening without asking someone. The dashboard transformed the platform from a request submission tool into an operations management system.
