OVERVIEW
A leading supplier of wholesale imprintable clothing and accessories needed to aggregate data across Salesforce lookup relationships—something not supported natively. The standard AppExchange tool, Declarative Lookup Rollup Summary (DLRS), hit performance limits with large datasets. Fiduciary Tech built a custom Apex-based solution to handle high-volume data aggregation, tailored specifically to the client’s needs.
THE CHALLENGE
Salesforce’s standard rollup summaries work only with master-detail relationships, leaving lookup relationships without native aggregation support. Existing AppExchange tools like DLRS could handle small datasets but struggled with larger volumes, limiting the client’s reporting and data visibility.
OUR SOLUTION
We recreated the DLRS functionality using Apex code to aggregate large datasets for lookup relationships. The solution was custom-built for the client’s environment, allowing accurate and efficient rollup of child record information onto parent records without the limitations of the off-the-shelf app.
