The Ultimate Power Couple: OpenAI’s Frontier Models and Codex Are Now Generally Available on AWS

OpenAI has announced that its frontier models and Codex are now generally available on Amazon Web Services (AWS) via Amazon Bedrock. This significant rollout removes a major barrier for enterprise AI adoption by allowing organizations to deploy OpenAI's capabilities natively within their trusted AWS environments—leveraging the security, compliance, procurement, and billing workflows they already have in place. In addition to deploying standard frontier models, teams can utilize Codex on Amazon Bedrock to assist in writing, debugging, and modernizing code. Moving forward, the companies also plan to bring Daybreak—OpenAI’s specialized cybersecurity initiative designed for cyber defenders to model threats and review code—directly into the AWS ecosystem.
