Salesforce suffered a global outage just as its Dreamforce conference got underway

Salesforce $CRM -2.88% suffered a widespread service outage on Wednesday, the second day of its annual Dreamforce conference in San Francisco, leaving customers unable to access parts of its cloud software suite.
The trouble started at roughly 7:50 a.m. UTC (3:50 a.m. Eastern), based on Salesforce's status page incident tracker. Customers across all three of the company's operating regions, mainly in the U.S., may experience severe delays, intermittent errors, or an inability to access some services, the alert read.
