Salesforce Launches Telco-Specific AI Agents to Address Revenue Stagnation

As global telecom operators grapple with slowing growth and rising customer churn, Salesforce has introduced Agentforce for Communications, a suite of prebuilt, industry-specific AI agents designed to unlock new revenue streams and improve customer retention.
The launch comes as the telecom sector faces what analysts describe as a revenue paradox: years of heavy investment in 5G and digital experience platforms have largely preserved existing revenue rather than driving growth. Industry growth is expected to slow to 2.9% by 2029, while average revenue per user continues to decline. At the same time, customer-facing teams are under mounting pressure, contributing to churn rates that can reach 40%.
