Salesforce Inc. must face most claims of a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of millions of customers of its corporate clients that was exposed in a 2025 data breach.

The plaintiffs alleged injury in fact sufficient for standing to sue in federal court, Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said Monday. They also adequately pleaded claims of negligence and violations of the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act, and the Washington Consumer Protection Act, she said for the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
