Salesforce buys cloud based word processing app Quip

Salesforce has acquired quip on August 1, 2016. Quip was founded in 2012 and has raised $45 million in funding. Quip is a cloud based word processing app. White it first started only on mobile quip has made its way to a desktop and web version. Quip will continue to operate as its own business but now under Salesforce. both founders Bret Taylor, formerly CTO of Facebook, and Kevin Gibbs, ex-googler, will stay on post acquisition.
