Microsoft and Salesforce lead ‘low-code’ development landscape

Microsoft and Salesforce have been ranked as leaders in the ‘low-code’ development landscape by a new report.

GlobalData’s Low-Code Platforms: Competitive Landscape Assessment report states that the success of Microsoft Power Platform and Salesforce Flow application platforms is largely based on the vendors’ ability to evolve their mature low-code technology into a popular user interface (UI) for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) innovations including generative AI (GenAI) and agentic AI. Low-code approaches to software development minimise the extent to which coding is required, instead favouring the likes of pre-built components and drag-and-drop functionality.
