OVERVIEW
A major retail chain needed a centralized system to manage the full lifecycle of potential store sites—from early market research through due diligence, approvals, and property handoff. Fiduciary Tech delivered a dynamic Salesforce interface that’s easy to maintain and user-friendly across roles—improving visibility, reducing errors, and simplifying collaboration across research, legal, real estate, and finance teams.
THE CHALLENGE
The client’s physical stores team relied on a standard Salesforce setup that couldn’t support the complexity of tracking potential store sites. With multiple user groups—each needing different views and access levels—Salesforce’s default page layouts and tabbed interface created friction. Limited to static layouts, users faced excessive scrolling, lacked field-specific guidance, and had no visibility into what was required of them. Native configuration tools didn’t allow fields to be editable for some roles and read-only for others within the same record. To accommodate their growing needs, the client considered custom Apex development—but hesitated due to concerns around long-term maintenance. Making even minor layout or field changes would require developer support—slowing progress, increasing costs, and introducing risk with each code update. As a result, collaboration suffered and critical information often went untracked or delayed.
OUR SOLUTION
We developed a custom Salesforce page interface that mimics the look and feel of standard layouts while delivering a far more dynamic, role-aware experience. Built using Lightning Web Components (LWC) and supported by Apex logic, the interface introduces advanced navigation, collapsible sections, and inline field-level instructions tailored to each team’s responsibilities.
Rather than hardcoding changes, we used custom metadata to drive the layout—enabling admins to easily update tabs, sections, fields, and instructions without developer involvement. Role-specific field visibility ensures that users see only what’s relevant to them, with fields rendered as editable or read-only based on role or profile. Visual indicators show required fields and real-time completion status, helping teams track progress and avoid delays. Behind the scenes, Apex-powered automations and email templates keep everyone aligned, reducing manual work and improving data consistency throughout the site development lifecycle.
