SEAMLESS LMS INTEGRATION WITH SALESFORCE & AWS

OVERVIEW
A global cloud education provider needed a streamlined way to manage students, course progress, hands-on labs, and digital credentials across multiple platforms. While some systems were already in place, Fiduciary Tech expanded and integrated the learning management system (LMS) by setting up Canvas Live Events, issuing badges through Credly, and automating the creation of Canvas courses and Vocareum labs whenever a Salesforce classroom is created. These enhancements streamlined workflows, automated recognition, and further improved the learner experience worldwide.
THE CHALLENGE
While Salesforce managed student and educator data, all course content and grading occurred in Canvas, and lab exercises required a separate platform. Students had to navigate multiple systems to complete assignments, labs, and receive badges, creating friction and manual overhead. Canvas did not allow custom code, limiting automation, and the client needed a scalable solution to unify these platforms, track progress in real time, and automatically issue recognition for achievements.
Salesforce Authentication Failure Fix
OUR SOLUTION

Fiduciary Tech implemented an event-driven integration across Salesforce, Canvas, the lab platform, and the badge system. Using Canvas Live Events, key actions—such as assignment completion and grading—were sent to an Amazon Simple Queue Service (AWS SQS) queue in JSON format. Lambda functions processed these events, applying rules such as issuing badges when passing criteria were met.

Hands-on labs were integrated with the LMS to provide students with direct access to cloud environments for practical exercises. Salesforce acted as the central hub for all student and educator data, while the integration ensured reliable automation and seamless tracking across all systems.
