STREAMLINING DATA INTEGRATION WITH SALESFORCE CONNECT
OVERVIEW
A global enterprise needed to consolidate and modernize its HR and career development systems within Salesforce. Migrating millions of historical case records without delaying go-live or overloading storage was a critical challenge. Fiduciary Tech delivered a migration and integration strategy that kept the project on time while drastically reducing data management overhead.
THE CHALLENGE
The program’s Salesforce org was shared with eight other HR teams, requiring every release to be coordinated across groups. Deployments were delayed, code was overwritten, and innovation was constrained. Migrating to a dedicated org was the clear path forward, but a full migration of all records and files—spanning hundreds of gigabytes—would have extended timelines by at least six additional months and risked exceeding storage allocations. The client needed a way to unify access to this data without duplicating everything.

OUR SOLUTION
We carried out a three-month end-to-end Salesforce migration, standing up a new environment, replicating all functionality, and ensuring data accuracy with a hybrid migration approach. All core components—including Lightning Web Components, Visualforce pages, and Apex logic—were fully replicated to preserve functionality. Non-dependent data sets were migrated with Salesforce Data Loader, while custom Apex handled more complex dependencies.
To address the largest and most complex data sets, we designed a dual approach:
• Targeted Migration — Migrated 250 GB of relevant data and 500 GB of files into the new org.
• Salesforce Connect Integration — Linked ~500 GB of data and ~1TB of files via Salesforce Connect, enabling real-time cross-org access without redundant transfers.
This strategy reduced storage needs, shortened the migration timeline by six months, and preserved seamless access to historical data for HR and program users worldwide.
KEY FEATURES
- • Salesforce Connect for cross-org, real-time data access
• Migration of 250 GB of relevant data and 500 GB of related files
• Preservation of ~500 GB of data and ~1TB of files in place, with full visibility
GLOBAL IMPACT/RESULTS
- • Timeline achieved: Project completed in 3 months vs. an estimated 9+ months for a full migration.
• Efficiency: Eliminated unnecessary duplication of data and files.
• Scalability: Architecture supports future growth without re-migration.
• Compliance & accessibility: HR and career development teams retained secure, seamless access to historical records.
TECHNOLOGIES & SERVICES
